Love Brights! Gel Matte Lipstick- Review

image

I’m love trying new make up and experimenting to figure out what works best for me. However, I rarely stray from my top picks and a lot of my make up sits untouched. I was excited to try out Vasanti’s gel matte lipstick because lip products are my favorite. I chose the shade Destined for Love which is a bright coral pink.

The shade looks more like a hot pink in the tube but when swatched I definately see the coral shade. The shape of the lipstick feels different to me too, doesn’t matter either way to me but I thought I would point that out. It smells like fruit punch to me which I love as well.

It’s made with no parabens and ingredients like evening primrose oil and cherry oil. It slides on smooth and keeps lips moisturized. It is matte , maybe there’s a hint of shine to it, but it’s definitely not super glossy. One thing I really liked about this lipstick is when I kissed my daughter, barely any went on her , other lipsticks would transfer right off my lips to her forehead.

I highly recommend this lipstick, I consider myself a lip product snob so for me to give a lipstick 5 stars I have to really love it.

May Boxycharm Unboxing

So, I may need to cancel this subscription because funds are short lately, which I am not wanting to because Boxycharm has been amazing.

Boxycharm is a box subscription that is $21/month and has around 5 full sized make up, hair care, or skin care products. Some things everyone gets the same of, others can vary.

You can sign up for Boxycharm at http://www.boxycharm.com

So here is my May box…
image

The theme was Bold & Beautiful
image

The first item is ModelCo Bronze Shimmer ($22.00 value)
image

I have always wanted to try ModelCo products, and even though I’d like to try the blush I am pleased with the bronzer. It’ll be great for this summer.

image

I love the shimmer to this and how easy it is to blend in and lighten up for fairer skin. Bronzers are always difficult and even though it goes on orange, it does blend in to look more like the top half of this swatch.

The next item is The Lip Bar Lipstick: Purple Rain ($20.00 value)
image

I would have probably cried had I received any other color but I’m totally digging the purple (light) lipstick fad. I also remember watching Lip Bar on Shark Tank, I agreed with the sharks at the time, but after trying this, I love it!

image

The shade looks amazing. It looks like it’d be darker but it shows up a pretty pinkish purple color, almost similar to Mac’s Lavender Jade. This might be my new favorite lipstick.

Next is the Bodyography Essential Brow Trio: Essential($19.00 value)

image

For whatever reason I thought this was eye shadow at first and was bummed by the boring brown colors, but as a brow trio this is great.

image

I was a little messy trying to swatch these but the light color completely blends into my skin. The other 2 are extremely dark and rich, making these great for a bold brow look.

Then I also received the Bodyography Brow Brush ($19.00 value)
image

I’m sort of sick of brushes, because I review them a lot and own a ton. I am happy that this is a brow brush because it does go with the brow trio, the quality looks great so at least it’s not a cheap flimsy brush, but it is very pricey for what it is.

The last item is the Lauron B. Beauty Nail Polish: Sunset Blvd. ($18.00 value)
image

In the photo it’s showing up almost red but it’s more of a deep coral color, almost pink. It definitely has a sunset vibe to it. I’m not sure this is an extremely bold color but I like it and it’s great for summer.
image

It doesn’t drip too much which is something I always test, but I don’t like how the cap screws on. It’s almost like it goes on crooked and if you leave it on straight it will leak out. I’m not sure if it’s meant to be like that, but it annoys me.

This box is priced at $98 total value, which is the lowest valued box I’ve received so far. I like this box though so the $21 spent is still worth it. I really hope I find a way to continue with my Boxycharm subscription.

Tatutina Book Ends: Owls- Review

image

These are incredibly adorable and bright. They are painted perfectly and the bookends themselves are very sturdy and well made. These are 100% solid wood and hand painted. I’m in love with the colors used, they work well with kids rooms but even as an adult I’d love these in my room’s shelve.

The owls look great and I imagine these would work well with any girl theme or animal themed kids room. Even if you don’t have a theme for a room, they just look amazing and stand out.

It’s obvious Tatutina takes pride in their products and a lot of time is spent on each one. I would highly recommend this company in general.

Tatutina Recipe Box : Oven- Review

image

This is one of those things I get and they are 10x cuter then I expected. First off, I really was wanting a recipe box. I have oodles of recipes on Pinterest, I will make one, then struggle to find it again. This solves that problem while being absolutely adorable.

The box is hand painted with a cute kitchen oven design on it. It is a sturdy hinged wooden box with a knob to open. There are separators inside to break apart recipe categories. I love they are general like Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks so I can focus on what meal I need to cook instead of the meats involved because half the time I might not know what I want to cook.

You can easily use index cards to write recipes on which is cheap to do and handy. The box itself is hand painted. There is a great appreciation to detail that I enjoy, from the knob of the oven to the inside of the box. It’s a very thought out and well executed design… I am very pleased with my recipe box.

April Ipsy Unboxing

So this is my first Ipsy bag. I’m about a month late on posting my unboxings but I wanted to get it done before moving onto May.

image

Ipsy is a beauty bag subscription containing around 5 mini items. It’s mostly make up, skincare, and haircare products. You also get a make up pouch. They let you do reviews and quizzes to help them select your personal glam bags as well as to earn points to use towards extra products. The cost is $10/month.

Here is my April Ipsy Glam Bag

image

The theme is Beautifully Bohemian

image

This is the bag…
image

I love the colors and the woven texture to it. I’ve read complaints about the style but I think it’s very boho and adorable.

Now on to the goodies…

So first, there’s the JulieG Nail Color: Damsel

image

I love nail polish, and the color pink, so this is easy for me to like. I actually would prefer something different because I do own so many pink polishes… but the color is very nice.

image

The polish is a little runny but not bad. I am happy to receive this in my bag.

Next is the Klorane: Dry Shampoo with oat milk- natural tint

image

I tested this on a white rag first and was a little worried because it looked very orange.

image

However, when I sprayed it in my brown hair it wasn’t noticeable, even when I sprayed it on my arm it didn’t show up. It really feels great, it’s a nice dry shampoo and another win.

Next is the Aromachology: Sophisticated & Sensual Perfume

image

I am in love with this perfume. It smells so floral and sweet. I know I probably can’t afford to buy a full bottle so I will try to make this roll on last as long as I can.

Then there’s the theBalm Cosmetics: NUDE Dude Eyeshadow Single

image

I love the cool little single design. It just looks neat. The color is a brown shade…
image

The color looks a lot lighter and has more of a shimmer to it on my skin. It’s almost a gold color. I also like this even though I have plenty of nude colors it still is a very nice shimmery shade.

Last but not least I was lucky and received the Too Faced: Melted Liquefied Longwear Lipstick- Peony

image

I really was hoping for this and was beyond excited when I saw I would get it in my glam bag. The shade is one I would’ve chosen too. It’s a beautiful medium bright pink shade.

image

The only down fall with these is it’s incredibly messy. It gets on everything. My kids… my hands… my teeth. There’s no real way I’ve discovered to keep it in check. I still love it but I wish it wasn’t so MESSY.

I love my April Beautifully Bohemian glam bag and for my first Ipsy bag. $10 for all that is a steal!

April Boxycharm Unboxing

Hi, everyone… I’m sorry I dropped off the blogging planet for a while. I kept meaning to update but I became swamped with Amazon review responsibilities that I put my poor blog on the back burner. So once again I am a month late on my Boxycharm post but I will put both April and May’s unboxings up now.

Boxycharm is a box subscription that is $21/month and has around 5 full sized make up, hair care, or skin care products. Some things everyone gets the same of, others can vary.

You can sign up for Boxycharm at http://www.boxycharm.com .

So here is my April box…
image

The theme was April Bloom

image

The first item is an Coastal Scents: Revealed 2 Palette ($39.95 value)

image

I really am excited to get this palette. I know you can get it fairly cheap online but it’s still am awesome thing to get in a subscription box.

image

The colors are neutral but still vibrant, I love the purplish and pinkish colors. They all go on smooth, some are more pigmented then others but it’s a very nice palette. I even prefer it to the Naked 1 and 2 palettes I had.

Next, I received Ofra Derma Mineral Powder ($35.00 value)

image

image

I was hoping for the lined Ofra bronzer product, I guess I already own a few drugstore items like it though. I was pleasantly surprised with this. It’s VERY shimmery.

image

I love shimmer though, so this is pretty awesome. It even says you could apply to hair! I’d be scared it’d look like dandruff but for my face it looks very pretty.

Next, is the Vincent Longo Dup Lip Pencil: Spring Rose & Soft Pink ($26.00 value)

image

I was very happy with this until I saw what other people got… but it’s still cool. My only issue is the 2 colors look almost identical on.

image

The only difference to me is one is more matte then the other. However, they are colors I use all the time so I can’t really complain.

Then there is the Coolway Smoothing Lotion ($24.95 value)

image

Not too excited for this one but it does make my hair feel nice and I will use it. This product alone is a little over the price of the whole box which is crazy.

Finally, I received the Harvey Prince Mini Roller Fragrance ($21.00 value)

image

I really like this fragrance. It’s a decent size for being a mini sized product and I love floral scents. Also, this one is valued at exactly $21.00 which is the exact cost of Boxycharm. (I would NEVER pay that for a mini fragrance alone.)

This box is valued at a $146.90 total value so the $21 spent was well worth it. I really love Boxycharm and so far have been very pleased with everything.

March Boxycharm Unboxing

Hi everyone!
This is the first subscription box I have received. I know ya’ll are probably over March but they just sent it to me since I signed up late in March. I will be posting a video soon of the unboxing but I’m trying to edit it first.

So for now, here is my blog post. 🙂

So, as most of you know, Boxycharm is a box subscription that is $21/month and has around 5 full sized make up, hair care, or skin care products. Some things everyone gets the same of, others can vary.

You can sign up for Boxycharm at http://www.boxycharm.com .

So here is my March box…

image

The theme was Lucky Charm

image

It also came with a 20% off tarte coupon card…

image

The first item is an Ofra eyeliner : black ($11.00 value)

image

I am happy with this. I use black eyeliner daily so I know I will use it. I wouldn’t mind trying a new and different color, but I know some others received a beige color and I would’ve never used that.

image

I love how smooth it goes on, it doesn’t jab like other liners. It’s definately a reasonable value too. I’d buy this again.

The next item was Oscar Blandi Hairspray / travel size ($13.00 value)

image

For a travel sized product it’s a decent size at 1.9 oz. I’ve heard great things about this hair product line so I’m happy to receive this as well. I have a hard time imagining anyone paying $13 for this travel sized hair spray though. I wonder how much a full sized bottle would be..

The next item is LVX nail lacquer : Mynt ($16.00 value)

image

Would’ve been a nice St. Patty’s day polish, or even Easter. However, pastels will be great all Spring. I tend to go for the pinks but it’s nice to try something new. The color is very similar to what I’m wearing now in shade.

image

This nail lacquer is really nice though.  I love how it’s not runny. I wouldn’t pay $16 for a nail polish though. I thought OPI and Essie were expensive. .. but this is a definate win in my box.

The next item is tarte LipSurgence lip tint : charmed ($24.00 value)

image

I was very excited about this. I actually own nothing tarte whicb is crazy. I’m glad mine didn’t arrive broken like others… it seems very fragile.

image

The color is fairly sheer unless you keep applying it… I love pink in general and I like that the tone changes with lighting changes. It’s also very pepperminty which also helps dry lips. Once again $24 is nuts for a lip product. Even MAC lipsticks are only $16. But that is what box subscriptions are for.

The last and probably least favorite item I received was Previse Nutrify Skin Type 1-6 Universal Tonic ($48.00 value)

image

It’s also the most expensive! As a reviewer I’m constantly trying out facial creams and serums similar to this one. It’s nice but nothing really soecial and not $48 nice. Everyone received this though so it is what it is. It also says Step 2 on it so I don’t know what the other steps are.

I think I got a pretty good box. I’ll use everything at some point, some more than others but at a $112 total value, the $21 spent was well worth it.

Elite Bakeware Pans- Review

image

I love these pans! I usually purchase the cheapest pants I can find and they get food stuck on them, they aren’t deep enough, and they even bend. These are perfect.

The depth is 2″ so the smaller pans fit great in my toaster oven. There are pans for all your baking needs. So far I have made a cake, baked chicken nuggets, and made potato casserole. They clean up nicely and food comes of with ease.

The orange silicone handles are great too. You can move hot pans by grabbing the handles without burning your hands. You can even stack them together nicely for easy storage. I have a small kitchen with little storage space so I love that. Overall, I am very pleased with the quality.

Xtava Make Up Brushes (15 pc)- Review

image

I have an obsession with Xtava’s hair tools. I’ve tried 4 of those and love them all. However, I haven’t had the opportunity to get their make up brushes… until now.

Normally, you can get single brushes like their eye brushes or a kabuki brush. This is a 15 piece “vibrant colors” set. The colors are what really drew me to them. I’ve seen many pink brushes I liked but these colors make the set truely unique.

The set comes in a classic Xtava beautiful black box. All their boxes are so pretty that you want to keep it even though you don’t have the room. The back of the box lists the order of what the brushes are. The set includes: 1 Powder Brush, 1 Blush Brush, 1 Foundation Brush, 1 HD Contour Brush, 1 Concealer Brush, 4 Eye Shadow Brushes, 1 Fan Brush, 1 Lip Brush, 2 Eyeliner Brushes, 1 Spoolie, and 1 Eyebrow & Eyelash Comb.

The actual carrying case is a almost fake leather snake skin texture. Not my favorite but it isn’t flimsy and very easy to use. The inside is better. Everything has it’s place and looks great.

The actually brushes are soft but effective. I dislike rough brushes but when they are too soft they loss effectiveness. These are perfect! The handles are long and sturdy too. I recently purchased 2 cheap brush sets, one has smaller brushes and the other the handle broke off. Definitely worth extra money purchasing this huge reliable set. I do love my Too Faced set still but it probably beats out my Mac brushes and definately Bare Essentials.

Overall, I’m so glad to have this beautiful set.

Soothing Lotus Essential Oil Diffuser- Review

image

This is one of the coolest things I have received thus far. I had some lavender oil I was really wanting to try and finally ordered a diffuser. I didn’t have a high expectation, just thought it’d have a nice smell but this diffuser is wonderful.

First, it’s easy to figure out. At 11 pm last night I was half awake and was goimg to wait until the next day to put it together because I didn’t want to mess with it all night. I decided to try it first and you just take off 2 tops, put water in to the line, and then add a few drops of oil.

Then, you hold down the right button until it beeps and press again and it starts the humidifier. If you want cool lighting you hold down the left button until it beeps, press again and it changes colors. You can keep pressing it to go through solid colors. It changes from many shades of blue, purple, red, green, and other colors.

My little girls love the light and I love the wonderful smell that travels throughout the house. It’s quiet too.

This is an amazing product and I am so happy to finally have a diffuser, and a nice one at that.
